Adventure Island
is adjacent to Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay and offers 30 acres of water rides and other attractions amid a “soothing Key West atmosphere.” The tropical atmosphere offers 18 water attractions for people of all ages, including an assortment of slides, waterfalls, a wave pool, “beach” volleyball and a children’s water playground. There are also special picnic and sunbathing areas at Adventure Island, and outdoor cafes, snack bars and gift shops – everything to make your adventure complete. Lockers, showers and changing areas are available, and shoes are recommended at all times at Adventure Island because the concrete can get slippery and hot. More than 50 certified lifeguards are on duty to supervise activities at all times, and a first aid station is staffed by medical technicians and a registered nurse. Coolers and food and drink are not permitted inside Adventure Island, but there is a spacious picnic pavilion located outside the park’s entrance where you can bring your own food. Admission for adults is $32.95, and $30.95 for children ages 3-9 (children two and under are admitted free)

Adventure Island Rides and Attractions
The Key West Rapids, Tampa Typhoon and Gulf Stream are just some of the exciting rides that will offer hours of drenching fun at Adventure Island. There are also calmer rides geared especially towards children and a family arcade. An 11-court championship volleyball court hosts both professional tournaments and amateur matches at Adventure Island, and includes amenities such as close-up viewing areas, night lighting and a nearby food stand. Speaking of food, there are several options inside the park, including a “surfside café” and other eateries that hot dogs, burgers, nachos, pizza and ice cream and other treats. Highlights of some of the park’s rides are given below.
The Wahoo Run plunges up to five riders more than 15 feet per second as the half-enclosed tunnel twists and turns more than 600 feet to a waiting splash pool. Called the “fastest tunnel river raft in the world,” you’ll corkscrew through spins and spirals propelled by more than 10,000 gallons of water on the Wahoo Run. The Tampa Typhoon will also have you screaming as you “free-fall” seven stories down a 76-foot water slide on one of the most heart-pumping rides in the park. Other thrill rides include the Caribbean Corkscrew, Aruba Tuba and the Gulf Scream, a huge 210-foot body slide that whisks you into the waiting pool below at 25 mph. If you’re looking for something a bit calmer, try heading to the Paradise Lagoon. This 9,000 square foot attraction features several attractions; a rope walk, cable drop, several slides and a 20-foot platform jump for cliff jumping. The Endless Surf is Adventure Island’s 17,000-square foot wave pool that generates waves up to five feet high for hours of pure fun at the "coolest" spot in town.
